Not Living (FICTION)
He's neither living nor dying. He's just floating in a space that's not quite here, and not quite there yet either. What's the point of this, I imagine him asking himself somewhere deep in his subconscious, and I can't help but wonder the same thing myself. What is the point of life if you can't live? Why does he continue to hang on, what is he clinging to?

Hey Inna, ever read The Last Question? It just popped into my head all of a sudden when I read this. Although it isn't related, just has the same mood. Hmmm.

Hm, interesting. Somehow sounds familiar, but I haven't read it. Will look into it, though! Thanks for the suggestion!!
ReplyDeleteIsaac Asimov? I'm generally not a big science fiction fan; is it very science fiction-esq??
ReplyDelete"One" by Metallica?
ReplyDeleteNot familiar enough with Metallica and their songs to know what you're referring to exactly, Sash... does "One" talk about the same kind of thing?
ReplyDelete@Karl: sorry, just realized you posted a link to the story as well - blonde moment! Will read through that ASAP!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty short story, easy to finish in half an hour, and if you don't like science fiction it'll definitely set you straight :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Sasha's right; One is about a soldier with full paralysis and his struggle inside his mind, and wish to die, while drawing parallels with embryos. It's that same desolate stuck-in-space feeling.
